"I'm always right here if you need a place to call home."
Personality
Xylo is someone who firmly believes that family, blood related or not, is one of the most important things someone could have. They're a deer who loves joking around, and isn't normally serious. Xylo prefers to go by their middle name, Genko, on the ship, and lets their crew guess what their actual name is. Xylo will happily offer anyone a spot on the crew. Whether it's a call for adventure, or someone looking for a new home, it doesn't matter to them.
While Xylo is normally relaxed, they get serious when their crew is threatened or hurt. They aren't afraid of putting their hoof down, or risking their own life to protect the crew. Xylo won't leave anyone behind as long as they can protect those they love. They don't have much interest in romance, and plays oblivious to any flirting. Due to growing up on the sea, Xylo has been called naive. They understand how life works on the sea much better than on land.
Appearance
Xylo stands at 5'8ft with a lanky build. They're often missing their right antler.

Pamo is Xylo's newest crew member, and he's helped them become more comfortable speaking up during arguments.
Backstory
Xylo was born to a long line of pirates. They grew up hearing tales of how some of their family were great pirates back when the word pirate meant something much different than it does today. While today's pirates are more about finding treasure and just having fun sailing the seas, Xylo's ancestors fought for their lives, plundering towns for goods and golds. The stories always amazed Xylo, and they wanted to do amazing things so they'd have many stories of adventure to tell!
Xylo was often at sea due to their parents owning a popular cruise ship. When asked, they told Xylo that they didn't want to leave the young deer alone with a babysitter. They got along just fine with the guests, and got to see all kinds of different towns and ports, and even got to try tons of different foods! The one thing Xylo didn't like, however, was how often they'd hear yelling from the passengers, or couples and friends arguing with each other. Sometimes it'd get to the point where Xylo stuck around one of their parents for the rest of the day.
Xylo was told they could do whatever they wanted once they could set out on their own, and once they were old enough, Xylo's parents helped buy them a ship. Xylo promised to keep in contact, and set off. They decided they wanted to continue living out on the sea, but get to sail wherever they wanted. Xylo slowly picked up others who also wanted to sail around Peluna, and soon enough the crew called themselves the Buccaneers.
About a year after setting sail, Xylo's crew had a run in with the thief's guild. After a misunderstanding and a short scuffle with a small group, Xylo talked to the group's leader, Flor, and was convinced to form an alliance with the guild. A couple of the thieves joined, and soon the crew added on to their name, and called themselves the Buccaneer Bandits.
While Xylo didn't steal from others, they did love finding lost treasure. They'd calmly remind the crew that they're out for adventure, and can pick up treasures along the way as long as no one's hurt for it. Self defense was fine, Xylo just didn't want the new thieves to attack someone. While they didn't like seeing the thief's guild members steal from right under their victims noses, Xylo kept quiet about their feelings.
Over time, Xylo heard more things about Flor and how she was a legendary thief. Why'd she want them to partner with the thief's guild a few years back? Xylo did their own research when things weren't busy, and they found out something interesting. Flor had cubs, well not cubs anymore from the date they saw, but still. Why would she be on a pirate crew? Xylo didn't see any other red pandas in that group. While it piqued Xylo's interest, they didn't look further in the matter until some time later.
Xylo heard of a red panda looking for his mom, the legendary thief. Was this one of the cubs they learned about? It didn't take long for them to find the red panda, and offer him a spot on the crew. They could help Pamo find Flor, and then Xylo could ask her why she wanted the Buccaneers to team up with the guild!
Today, Xylo is sailing around the world with a crew by their side, and helping Pamo find Flor. He's gotten closer to Pamo, and has noticed the red panda has helped him speak up when arguments do happen.
