"Think you can beat me in a game of Spades?"
Personality
Ace is known for being calm and intelligent. Around Galaxy Dollars, the coffee shop he works at, Ace is told that he's the best at dealing with angry customers. Beneath his serious exterior, friends will find someone who likes the occasional joke or prank. Ace likes showing his affection through actions more than words. Friends who come by to get a coffee will oftentimes get one on the house when he's working. Ace isn't afraid to say what's on his mind, and will stand his ground when it comes to the things he believes in. He has a strong sense of family, so he keeps in touch with them and his close friends.
Ace is good at lying and telling people what they want to hear. Because of this, he's skilled at manipulation to get things he wants from people. He doesn't blush or get flustered easily. The best way to do so is to mention his height. He hates the reminder that he was one of the short guys in school! Ace doesn't mind going out to social events, though he doesn't go out of his way to make a new friend, he'd rather let people come to him. He keeps the friends he has close to him, and makes sure they're protected. He enjoys needle point sewing.

Backstory
Growing up, Ace was close to his parents and his older sister, Clover, who was around five years older than him. They had their fights and arguments. but were normally on good terms with each other. They'd often hang out, and Clover would often teach Ace some neat things she found out. One of Ace's favorite things he learned from Clover was how to flick a card. Clover also tricked him into thinking fifty-two card pickup was a real game. Clover had a pocket knife collection that she like showing Ace once the younger brother got to middle school. Clover even let Ace pick out one to keep, and Ace still has that pocket knife to this day.
Ace was always interested in card games growing up. He'd often play some kind of Solitaire when he was bored, or find fun card games to play with his family. He could even do some card magic tricks after he figured out how to do them right! He'd normally have a deck of cards on him when he left the house, and would play something when he was bored and had enough space. He'd often play cards at school during lunch or recess.
One day, during recess he and his friends were seeing who could hold their breath the longest. Ace was amazed to discover that he turned invisible for however long he held his breath! He got in trouble for using his magic to scare some of his friends, and even his big sister! He learned that he couldn't go invisible every single time he held his breath, and was quick to find the limits of his magic. Ace could only do it so many times per day for a limited amount of time. He practiced holding his breath longer just so he could stay invisible longer. It took him longer than he'd like to admit to realize that he didn't need to hold his breath at all for his magic to work.
During high school, Ace was curious why his sister went from a car mechanic to a casino mechanic. Did she want to gamble a bit? He didn't think much of it until sometime after he graduated. He'd noticed that Clover stayed out way later than she usually does some nights, and decided to question her. After his general casino questions, he got straight to his real questions. After refusing to leave before getting an answer, he learned that his sister got roped into joining the Blackjacks and couldn't leave without endangering her family. He was set on finding a way to help her out of it. Clover eventually agreed to teach him self defense, and to keep him updated on the Blackjacks as long as he doesn't involve their parents.
Over the next few years, Ace was trained in self defense. He was told about the few friends Clover made, and how she's plotting with them. He promised Clover that he'd protect their parents if anything happened to her. After Clover told him that she heard the Blackjacks were planning something big, she and her friends started teaching Ace more fatal self defense techniques, and he was asked to not use these skills unless necessary.
Ace managed to stay hidden from the Blackjacks, but his sister wasn't as lucky. He was worried when she didn't come home one night, went searching for her, and eventually found her in an alley way. Ace managed to get her to a hospital in time, and helped her come up with a believable story about what happened once he found out she was attacked by the Blackjacks. He hated seeing his big sister weakened. He'd help her get around and fetch her things when needed. Even though Clover asked him not to go after the Blackjacks, Ace's mind was set on getting back at them.
Ace decided to join the assassins guild he heard Clover's friends whisper about. Even though Clover tried talking him out of it, Ace wouldn't change his mind. He was given contact information of Clover's friends she knew could trust. He was grateful that even though his sister didn't agree with his choice, she still gave him all the advice she could to keep him safe.
Ace later moved out of his parents house and job a job as a barista at Galaxy Dollars. He helped Clover set up a room at his house so she could stay over whenever she wanted. He'd spend his days silently judging the coffee choices of others, or spending time with Jack, a friend he kept contact with from school, at his bar known as Cat Scratch. During the night, Ace spent his time researching what he could about the Blackjacks, and even making his own assassin outfit so he could blend into the night. Even though Clover and her friends kept him away from doing true assassin work, he kept training to make sure he'd be ready if that time ever did come.
While working at Galaxy Dollars, Ace took notice of two of his regulars. He'd noticed them coming and going from Unity Casino. Did they have a gambling addiction, or was there something more going on there? After asking Clover, he found that they were two of the Blackjacks. One who worked on the casino floor, and one doing seemingly whatever she wanted or was ordered to do. Ace noted how Clover talked about the blonde girl. Was she even interested in doing work for the Blackjacks?
After keeping a close eye on the two, and making friendly conversation from time to time, Ace had decided to get information from the blonde known as Jazz. He found her either practicing archery, or playing with a bat and ball in Vinette park when she wasn't with Chance. He soon approached her and made an offer. He could teach her how to hone her archery and batting skills as long as the Blackjacks, including Chance, didn't hear about it. It took him by surprise how quick she accepted the offer with additional terms.
Ace talked to Clover about how he found a Blackjack member who didn't seem to care for the work she did, and he soon began training her, as well as letting her stay over at his house whenever she wanted to get away from Chance.
Currently, Ace wound up letting Chance and Jazz, former Blackjacks, live with him. He's working with the both of them to try and take down the Blackjacks.
